At this long-awaited Board of Directors meeting, the Air District staff will present an update of its Climate Protection Program. (Download link below.) The presentation lists "significant accomplishments, progress in implementing the 10-point Climate Action Work Program, progress in developing the Regional Climate Protection Strategy, and proposed rule development activities."
The plan promises to aggressively reduce the sources of GHGs and black carbon emissions. Among other things, it aims to promote the electrification of equipment, regulate and reduce methane leaks at industrial facilities and landfills, reduce diesel emissions, and establis new standards for furnaces and water heaters in new buildings.

Revisions of the draft refinery rules 12-15 and 12-16 are likely to be presented in August, with work continuing on into the early fall.
