Attend BAAQMD meeting to oppose crude-by-rail in Richmond

tanker-cars-trucks.jpgThe Air Board staff has refused to rescind the permit of the Kinder Morgan crude-by-rail operations in Richmond. It has flatly denied appeals by the City of Richmond and numerous community groups that asked that this process be conducted through an open CEQA process, not through a closed-door ministerial action. Attend the next BAAQMD meeting and let the directors and staff know that the refusal to rescind the permit is unacceptable.

If you want to make statement at the meeting, you may want to review a letter citing significant errors in BAAQMD's analysis of air emissions and risks posed by the offloading operations. This letter, signed by numerous Bay Area environmental organizations and community groups, offers powerful talking points.

A car pool is leaving from the Bobby Bowens Center in Richmond at 8:00 AM. If you wish to join the car pool, please email Andrés Soto.
