Climate Justice & the Working Class, Thursday, June 12

climatejustice.jpgYou are invited to attend Working Our Way Out of the Crisis: Climate Justice & the Working Class,  a conversation between workers, union organizers, and climate justice leaders on moving from "Jobs OR the environment" to "Jobs FOR the environment."

Thursday, June 12th from 6-8PM
California Nurses Association
2000 Franklin Street, Oakland CA

The event is free and open to the public.

The event is co-sponsored by Jobs with Justice SF and is the first in a series of events by Movement Generation called "Race, Class & Ecology" aimed at amplifying and advancing the vibrant social movement leading the Just Transition away from profit and pollution and towards healthy, resilient, and life-affirming economies. Among other speakers, we're excited to have two experts flying in from out of town to join us for the evening:

Joe Uehlein, President of the Labor Network for Sustainability, former Secretary Treasurer of the AFL-CIO’s Industrial Union Department, and former director of the AFL-CIO Center for Strategic Campaigns.

Jose Bravo, Executive Director of the Just Transition Alliance, a nationally-recognized leader in the environmental justice movement with a long history bringing frontline communities together with union workers to develop a common agenda to address pollution, health and safety.
