Stop Oil Trains/Lac Mégantic Commemoration, Saturday, July 11

lac-megantic-explosion.jpgTransportation of explosive and toxic crude-by-rail poses a grave danger to our communities, as it does to communities across North America.

In commemoration of the tragedy in Lac Megantic, Quebec, (July 6, 2013), we will gather at Atchison Village Park in Richmond, march to the gates of the BNSF/Kinder-Morgan rail terminal a few blocks away, then continue on to Washington Park to enjoy music, speakers and a family-friendly festival.

This mobilization supports a national Stop Oil Trains Week of Action. To ensure its success, volunteers are needed to engage as many Richmond residents as possible.

Please sign-up now to canvass, table or distribute flyers over the next 2 weeks to make this the biggest mobilization against oil trains ever in the Bay Area.
