May Day March to Stop Police Terror

police-brutality.jpgThe International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 10 is leading a Day of Action on May 1st to call national attention to the urgent need to stop police terror.  There will be no longshoremen working on May Day in the Port of Oakland.  The port will be completely shut down, demonstrating the power of the organized working class.

The ILWU has been at the forefront of many monumental events including the General Strike of 1934, the 1984 Anti-Apartheid action against South Africa, and the 2010 Oscar Grant rally and port shut down.

Gather at 9 am at the Port of Oakland to march to Oakland City Hall, where a rally will be held at 11:30 am.  Port of Oakland, follow Adeline St overpass to APL gate near Berth 62, Middle Harbor Rd.
