Want to fight climate change while defending west Oakland's frontline communities? Then help us stop millions of tons of coal from being transported by rail into the Oakland Army Base, then shipped to overseas markets.
The project would be a money bonanza for Phil Tagami, the key developer of the Army Base, and for the Utah mining company pushing it. But it would be a public health disaster for west Oakland residents. And of course, the harmful effects of coal combustion would not be confined to California, nor to human life alone. All life on Earth is threatened by the burning of fossil fuels. This project is a lose-lose-lose proposition—and we're committed to stopping it.
Will you join us? Attend a rally July 21st, and please help us get the word out.
