Oakland City Council hearing on coal export, Monday Sept 21

1-coal-train-dust_copy.pngThe Oakland City Council must hear from Oakland and other Bay Area residents how very strongly we feel about the prospect of massive amounts of coal (and petroleum coke) shipping through the Port of Oakland for export.   Here is the September 21st hearing agenda.  To say this hearing is world-historic, and even as important as the coming climate talks in Paris, is not an over-statement.  Will you be there to represent?  Will you stand up and be counted?

We can only win the fight for climate justice and planetary survival region by region. And in Oakland on the 21st we say ¡No pasaran!  NO COAL THROUGH OAKLAND! You can sign up to speak here.  Please do this even if you're not up to speaking, as you can cede your time to someone who is willing to testify.   Speakers will be granted only 1 minute, and having enough time to develop points is absolutely invaluable.

What we do at this hearing on the 21st will impact the lives of future generations.  Will you be there?  Will you stand with us?
