The Oakland City Council has taken major steps toward banning the export of coal from the city. Community, church and political leaders all contributed to promising developments that unfolded at the Council's Feb. 16th meeting. (Read full story on our Announcements page.)
Meanwhile the City Council has put a moratorium on issuance of any permits for the terminal. Check our campaign page for updates.
NOTE: Contrary to what we reported earlier, we do not know what actions, if any, the Council will take at its April 5th meeting. If and when we learn more, we will be sure to report it her
