Oakland Fossil Fuel Resistance Coalition, Thursday

coal-car.jpgThe Oakland Fossil Fuel Resistance Coalition is dedicated to keeping coal out of the old Oakland Army Base. The developer of the base is negotiating with four counties in Utah to permit the export of 5-6 million tons of coal/year through Oakland. The timeframe is short: an end-of-June deadline has been cited. Adding coal dust to the burden of respiratory assaults on Oakland residents is simply not acceptable. The project must be stopped.

For more background on the proposal, please see A Coaltastrophe Threatens Oakland, on our website.
