The 2014 Our Power National Convening will unite local and national frontline communities, community-based organizations, labor unions, climate activists and other allies to advance a Just Transition strategy.
The Convening will focus on bringing together frontline communities impacted by fossil fuel infrastructure projects like crude- and coal-by-rail, refinery expansions and pipelines. It will emphasize community-led, solution-oriented strategies.
The Convening Schedule
We have planned two days of plenaries and workshops with activists from across the country, and a third day focused on developing strategies.
A fourth day, Saturday, August 9, is a day of action that includes a commemoration of the Chevron explosion, demonstrations of Just Transition projects, and an “Unplug the Empire” concert co-sponsored with Urban Tilth.
Attend as much of the Convening as you wish. If the suggested registration fee is too high, feel free to donate what is comfortable for you.
Sunflower Alliance can also sponsor a limited number of scholarships where needed.
Please contact Steve Nadel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Day of Action is open to all. Free and no registration required.
