Bay Area activists are urgently needed to join Richmond residents in an all-day canvassing blitz, Richmond Rising, to support Gayle McLaughlin, Jovanka Beckles, and Eduardo Martinez in their progressive races for city council. The goal: knock on 1,000 doors in a single day. Come on out and do good work for the community and climate, and then join us for a party afterward.
Many you already know that Mike Parker has withdrawn his bid as mayoral candidate. He and his supporters have determined that his time will be better spent campaigning for the team of progressive candidates for Richmond City Council pictured here. Mike will continue to vigorously campaign to elect these candidates.
Chevron has already bought up every billboard in the city of Richmond, and will likely pour millions into its campaign to defeat the candidates who are fighting hard to transform this refinery town into a model green city. The only thing standing in Chevron's way is people power—and that means all of us!
We'll have two canvassing shifts:
• 10 am - 2 pm (arrive at 9:30 am for briefing)
• 1 pm - 5 pm (arrive at 12:30 pm for briefing)
There will be some light refreshments, but come prepared for an active day of canvassing! Return to the Bobby Bowens Center and party from 5:30 pm on.
