WesPac is dead!

wespac-pittsburg.jpgPittsburg residents can breathe a sigh of relief. The massive crude oil storage facility and transfer facility planned for the city was officially cancelled by its backers. Chalk it up to a combination of factors: continuing low oil prices that made the project unprofitable, the ceaseless resistance of an organized community, and the intervention of Attorney General Harris, who challenged the project’s widespread environmental impacts. Congratulations, Pittsburg!
