Why we should care what BAAQMD does

bay-area-ghg-emission-trends.jpgA new presentation about the scope of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District is now available on our website. It looks at the types of pollutants BAAQMD regulates, their effects on human health, and the stationary sources of pollutants. It also identifies fossil fuel expansion projects in our region and key allies in the fight for climate protection. The presentation ends with an outline of key goals of BAAQMD’s 2014 Bay Area Climate Action Plan, and an overview of strategies for community advocacy.

We urge anyone who wants to understand the nature and challenges of air quality regulation in the Bay Area to view the presentation. (6MB, PDF. A PowerPoint version of the presentation is also available. Please contact us.)
